Physical Perfection
A longtime student of the Science of Mind was rereading chapter fourteen of the Science of Mind textbook by Dr. Ernest Holmes. Over the years, he had probably read that chapter titled “Physical Perfection,” at least a dozen times. However, during this particular reading, a strong impulse came to him to apply the ideas he found there to a hearing problem he had.
Quite a few years ago, when he was in the Navy, a gun had been fired next to his right ear. As a result, he had experienced some hearing loss. The Navy physician told him that little by little his hearing would deteriorate until finally he would be totally deaf in that ear. Sure enough, each day, each month, and each year, his hearing did get worse and worse — until the day he picked up his Science of Mind textbook and reread chapter fourteen. The man said to himself, “I’m going to do a spiritual mind treatment right now, knowing the truth about my ear.”
He proceeded to do a spiritual mind treatment, or affirmative prayer, in which he accepted that his hearing was perfect in every way. Five minutes later, he could hear better than he had been able to hear for years!
Physical perfection is mine now. Every beat of my heart resonates, “Perfection! Perfection! Perfection!” Today I know and accept the truth of this phrase: “Perfect God, perfect being, perfect me.”
