The Power of God Protects Me
Shirley came to volunteer at our church one morning. She was new to the Science of Mind and knew very little about it. In keeping with my usual practice, I started the day with affirmative prayer. I prayed for Shirley’s well-being and for her family’s well-being, and I concluded with a prayer for our church. She finished her volunteer work around noon and left to go home.
The next morning I received a phone call from Shirley telling me the following story. She left the church and drove home immediately. In order to get to her house, she had to drive past a construction zone where the road became one narrow lane. All at once, Shirley looked up and saw a car racing toward her. The driver appeared to be asleep at the wheel! Shirley began honking her horn but to no avail. The driver continued to sleep. She continue holding her hand on the horn, when all at once, the man miraculously woke up and swerved, avoiding colliding with her car, missing her by inches.
“Rainbow,” she said to me later on the phone. “I don’t know very much about your religion, but I’m firmly convinced that the prayer you said in the morning saved by life. Where can I find out more about this Science of Mind?”
Dear God, I am at peace.
I know You are guiding me, guarding me, and protecting me.
I know You are my life itself.
And I praise You and surrender my life to You.
I stop resisting and allow You to express through me
in every waking and sleeping moment.
