The Austin Center for Spiritual Living is hosting this event at the stunning Lopez Hill Art Gallery in Spicewood, Texas.

Lopez Hill is as unique as a Solar Eclipse. Giant glass mosaics, in the style of Vincent Van Gogh, are installed on the exterior walls, and many other pieces of glass art adorn the interior. Beautiful plants are everywhere.

LISA CLARK
From 3 to 4pm Lisa will be performing a concert of jazz and other musical numbers in the Gallery with the Art Show.
Lisa moved to Austin, Texas in August, 2005. She grew up in L.A., the daughter of Grammy winning bass player/arranger, Buddy Clark (of Supersax) and Carol Clark, who delightfully brainwashed Lisa with the Great American Songbook.
​
Lisa was in a jazz vocal trio for many years, which allowed her the privilege of traveling around the world , performing with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Tex Beneke, and the Mambo Kings, to name a few. Lisa was hired by Bob Dorough to perform on the most recent School House Rock DVD for ABC/Disney, The Electoral College. She's done theater, released two CD's...Blue Carousel and It's A Good Day, has her own band, Lisa Clark's Swingin' Caravan. She's also performed with many Big Bands in the Austin area.
Lisa is the music director/soloist at The Austin Center for Spiritual Living, and can be seen around town accompanying her vocals on piano publicly, and in many senior living communities. Lisa writes a variety of styles of music...jazz, pop, inspirational, and children's music.

Lisa also does last wishes concerts for hospice patients through the wonderful charitable organization, Swan Songs. She is so honored and proud to be affiliated with this incredible non-profit organization.

By any measure, Kit Holmes' musical gifts alone are extraordinary. My goal as a certified Life Coach and Connection Practice Coach is to guide people to understand their own feelings and needs so they are empowered to emathetically respond to others. The Connection Practice is a life skill that significantly reduces stress, builds resilience and enhances performance due to increased social-emotional intelligence. It is also a powerful tool in violence prevention and conflict resolution.

When we are in a conflict, we can create a pause between stimulus and response where we give ourelves the grace to honestly name our feelings and needs. This leads to self-empathy and self-acceptance, so we can shift into empathy for the other person by guessing their feelings and needs. Then, using heart-brain coherence, we can quickly access an insight for resolving the situaltion peacefully. In my coaching sessions, clients learn how to take these Connection Practice steps so they can do it on their own.

Gourd Art
"I grew up very poor. Everything we had served a purpose, but my parents still managed to weave art into our lives." Dianna's dad played music and could be found painting on found items like saws and pieces of old wood. Her mom was a singer and magnetic storyteller.
​
As a self-taught artist, Diana continues to be inspired by the memory of her late parents. Diana is an extremely versatile artist. From oil paintings of Hill Country landscapes to artisanal jewelry and decor, her offerings are unique and impactful.
​
In 2020 she discovered gourd art and was immediately up for the creative challenge. "I was originally drawn to gourds for their natural beauty and simplicity. To be able to take something that can be found growing wild in nature and transform it into something unique and beautiful is a powerful experience for me."
Diana's artistic style is as multi-layered and diverse as she is, mostly whimsical with some native American influence and a dose of mixed media for flair.
"I love that there are no rules with art. It means I approach each project with a different perspective."

Tiny Trees
I started making trees about 6 years ago. I saw a video and thought is might be fun to try it. Over the years I have progressed and am making much better trees. I keep coming up with new ideas for mounting them and have found my own style. It is very fulfilling to make something beautiful and that people seem to like. Now I can't just sit to watch a movie or T,V. show. I have to be working on a tree at the same time. Maybe I'm addicted to trees! Or maybe I'm just "antsy."
Hopefully, as time passes I'll get better and better and come up with even more ideas. I have a few ideas rattling around in my head. I just need to find time to experiment.

A BIT ABOUT THE SOLAR ECLIPSE
On October 14th, we get to see both the sun and the moon at the same time. Between 10:30 am and 1:30pm the moon will pass in front of the sun, creating a brilliant corona. So brilliant we will need to wear special safety glasses.
​
Since the beginning of history, humans have been in awe of the sun and the moon. At times they have worshiped the sun or the moon, made sacrifices to them, prayed for blessing and protection from them or feared that an eclipse of the sun meant the end of the world.
Today we know that the darkness from an eclipse is only temporary. The sun will return. We accept a solar eclipse as completely natural and normal. But still, it is amazing, and it thrills us. We celebrate a solar eclipse.
You and your family are invited to join us on Saturday, October 14th, to celebrate the next solar eclipse. We are calling it A Soular-Solar Eclipse because we will be celebrating the internal energy of the soul, as well as the external energy of the sun.
