Divine Right Furnishings

The Science of Mind teaches us to turn away from a negative condition and focus on the spiritual truth about it. This is often easier to talk about doing than to do, but a young mother proved that it works.

Barbara had an 18-month-old baby girl. Because her husband’s business was failing, he wasn’t able to support his family and hadn’t paid certain bills that were now well overdue. One day, Barbara heard a knock at the door of her apartment. She opened it and, to her surprise, in stepped a sheriff and two moving men! They proceeded to remove all of her furniture and then went outside and took her car! As she sat in the middle of the living room floor, crying, a thought popped into her conscious mind. “We are God’s children, and something will work out for us!”

Just then, there was another knock on the door and Barbara cautiously opened it. There stood a woman she had never seen before, who said, “Come with me.” She led Barbara and her baby to a garage and opened it up. Lo! It was filled with furniture! Over the years, the woman had saved all the furniture that had been left behind when people moved out of the apartment complex. She said to Barbara, “Choose whatever you want!”

Today, I choose to turn away from all disharmonious situations. I know that God is taking care of me. I choose to turn away from all thoughts of lack and limitation. I choose to turn away from all thoughts of negativity and criticism. God is taking care of me and always will. Thank you, God!
