The Science of Mind teaches that there is a Power for good in the Universe and that we can use It. This Power, which is everywhere present, exists within the center of our being. As we acknowledge this great Power and embody Its qualities as being active within us, our lives change. Sometimes, this acknowledgment takes the form of prayer, sometimes meditation, sometimes thanksgiving, and sometimes more unconventional methods — as happened in the case of Dolores.
Dolores was 51 and had never had her own car. Sometimes, in an emergency, she would borrow her mother’s car. However, her mother was 79, and the car was the last precious possession remaining that had belonged to both of Dolores’ parents. Therefore, her mother was protective of the twenty-year-old vehicle. On one occasion, Dolores was carefully driving her mother’s car and stopped at a red light. The impulse came to her to shout these words out loud “God, I know somehow I am going to have my own car, and I’m going to have it soon.” She proceeded to forget the entire incident and went about her business. Two weeks later, a man approached her desk at work and said, “Dolores, my daughter just bought a new car and I want to give you her old one.”
Today I realize the good I desire is already mine. Thank You, God. Today I believe I have already received that which I need. Thank You, God. Today, I consciously unite with the one Source of all and I inherit the Kingdom. I claim my inheritance. Thank You, God.
