Everything We Wanted
We had been looking for a new church location for six months. Each day, members of our Board and congregation would scout possible properties. We must have looked at over three dozen properties in six months. But somehow, we just couldn’t connect. And then we found the Fairfield property. It had everything we wanted.
At the same time, one of our members found another property on North Lamar in a business park. It was also very nice, but we were hesitant about having our church in a business park. We liked the Fairfield property.
One noon, a group of twelve of us decided to meditate together and ask God which of the two properties was the right one for us. One by one, people began speaking. “I personally prefer the Fairfield property, but I am getting a clear picture that we are to move to the North Lamar site.” This sentiment was echoed over and over until we all realized it was unanimous. We all preferred the Fairfield property, but we all received clear information that we were to move to North Lamar.
Then, the property manager on North Lamar offered us a free month’s rent and an additional 1000 square feet for only $100 a month extra. We got the hint. And we now adore our new church. After our decision, we discovered that the street in front of the Fairfield property is being completely redone. There is no way in and no way out!
I surrender to the wisdom of God,
