Why art thou cast down, O my soul?
— Psalm 43:5
All thoughts of failure or depression must be erased
from the mentality, and positive thoughts of
achievement should take their place.

God Needs Me
An elderly gentleman constantly says, “I’ve lived too long. I just don’t know why I’m here. I’ve lived too long.”
Would that he could have eavesdropped at the convalescent hospital one morning, when the people were discussing their blessings. Almost all of them said in their own way, “My greatest blessing is that I woke up this morning with a clear mind. There are so many people who don’t even know what day it is. I am so grateful that I do.”
Do you think you’ve lived too long … or are you grateful for your life now?
Do you know that just because you are alive, God needs you for a special purpose? You, yourself, may not even be aware of the reason, but nevertheless, there is one. Maybe it is to give love to another in just your unique way, or to allow another to love you.
Ihilani, a patient in a small Hawaiian hospital, had been in a coma for two years. Two years! You might wonder what possible reason God could have had for keeping her alive. Everything had to be done for her. Even so, she was the absolute favorite of the hospital staff, visitors, and patients! They would sing Hawaiian songs to her, and she would smile. It is likely that she remained on Earth so that others might learn a lesson of love.
I woke up this morning with a clear mind.
How wonderful to be needed by God to make a better world.
I know this is true — otherwise I wouldn’t be here!
