Love is God

Religious Science teaches that with Love, all things are possible because Love is greater than all else. When we love, our prayers are answered because Love is God.

The entire world was moved by Princess Diana’s untimely death, she who embodied so beautifully the quality of Love — she who demonstrated kindness for the sick, compassion for the poor, and a passion for peace. Along with millions of others, I watched the TV special reports on her life. At the conclusion of one such report, I was deeply touched by a small postscript. On the screen flashed a photo of Diana, not the radiant Diana in her wedding gown or regal wardrobe, but a Diana with a pensive, sad look on her face and shadows under her eyes. As she began to speak, her delicate voice went straight through to my heart. She said, “If you can find someone to love you just as you are, if you can find someone to love just as they are, if you can find love, hold on to it. It is precious!”

This so reminded me of the song by Jana Stanfield which says: “If I had only known it was our last walk in the rain, I’d keep you out for hours in the storm...the love I would have shown, if I had only known.” Beloved, let us love one another for Love is God.

Today, I call everyone I love and tell them so. If I can’t reach them by phone, I write them a love note. I take no one for granted. And as I express my love, I know I am expressing God, because Love is God. And so it is.
