… whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
— Acts 2:21
When things look the worst, that is the supreme moment to demonstrate to ourselves, that there are no obstructions to the operation of truth.

No! No! No!
Sometimes I feel spiritually “homesick.” Yes, I know God is everywhere present, but sometimes I feel a sense of separation. At those moments, several things can help me reconnect consciously with the God-Presence within me, including meditation, spiritual mind treatment, inspirational reading, calling a friend, and using affirmations. Often, however, I find that I don’t get results with these approaches. Why? Even though my lips are saying, “Yes! Yes! Yes!” my underlying beliefs are say, “No! No! No!” And it’s these deeper beliefs that determine what I experience.
One thing we can do when this happens is to use spiritual denials followed by affirmations of spiritual Truth. Dr. Ernest Holmes defines denial as “the mental act of knowing that any negative condition need not be.” I used this approach several weeks ago when I kept waking up in the middle of the night with an intense feeling of terror. All at once I remembered something I had read about denial, and I said aloud, “No! You have no power over me! I am God’s perfect child, and God is Peace!” The feeling of terror left and I went back to sleep only to awaken later with the same uncomfortable feeling. I repeated the denial and affirmation, and felt better, then slept for two hours. I was awakened four times that evening and repeated the denial and affirmation each time. The feeling finally left and has never recurred since.
I know there is only one Power and that Power is God.
I know there is only one Life and that Life is God.
I know there is only one Mind and that Mind is God.
I am empowered by this knowledge.
