Warts ‘n’ All
I love the story about Ernest Holmes when he was a playground director, in charge of a group of boys who looked on him as a father, as a friend, and as someone who could do amazing things. In fact, he became known as “a wizard on warts.” All a boy had to do was to show Ernest his warts and say he wanted to get rid of them. Ernest would stare at the wart for a few moments and then say to the boy, “Now I can tell this wart to go away, and it will. Do you believe it will?” And the boy would answer, “I sure do!” Then Ernest would look at him closely to see if he was sincere, then say, “Go wash your hands. Keep them clean and the wart will go away.”
“Does it grow in dirt?” asked one little fellow.
“What do you think?” Ernest asked.
“I guess I’ll go wash up now,” said the boy. And soon the wart was gone.
As I read this story recently, I happened to notice that a small growth had appeared on my right cheek some time earlier. I had no idea what had caused it, but one thing I knew for sure — I didn’t like it one bit! I realized that if Ernest Holmes could do what he did for those boys, there was no reason I couldn’t do the same thing. I quieted my mind before I went to sleep that night and I did a spiritual mind treatment, knowing the truth that my face was perfect and free from the growth. I fell asleep peacefully, and the very next morning the growth had completely disappeared!
I know that with God all things are possible.
I know that with God all things are perfect.
I know that there are no blemishes in God.
I am perfect in every way.
